Ace comedian, Alibaba, has slammed people who refuse to share opportunities for growth with their friends and colleagues.

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, the 54-year-old narrated an incident where a comedian refused to tell his colleague about a comedy show which Alibaba organises to groom talents, Alibaba’s Spontaneity competition.

“I am trying to understand some people who call themselves friends. How can you be friends and colleagues and you don’t share opportunities that will make you and your colleagues greater?” he began.

“So we had the #AlibabasSpontaneity competition last Saturday. It’s a competition that provides a platform for spontaneous comedians to hone their skills and also gives them a chance to win a car while leapfrogging their careers. A comedian who heard about it came and registered. Took pictures with me and posted. Today I get a message from another comedian who does skits with the one who came for the competition, asking when the next #AlibabasSpontaneity will hold.”

“Now I ask, what’s the problem with colleagues? What does it cost you to share information that will help others grow? Helping to light another person’s candle doesn’t dim yours. Grow a brain and a heart! Life is not that hard,” the comedian added.

Alibaba is married to Mary Akpobome. They got married in Lekki, Lagos in 2006.
