Gospel singer Alayo Melody has shared a video from the last birthday celebration of late singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi.
Alayo posted the video on Instagram on Wednesday. The clip shows him visiting Akinnaanu while she was bedridden and presenting her with a birthday cake which showed she was 46. He was also seen singing and praying for her.
He captioned the post, “Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Your memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew you. My deepest sympathies to the husband, children and family during this time of loss. May you find comfort in one another. 😢🕊️💔”
The post came a day after Alayo shared a statement from her family alongside a picture of the deceased and a video from the hospital.
The statement read, “With great sadness 💔😭we announce the passing of Evangelist Olubunmi Akinnaanu Adeoye OMIJE OJUMI ,passed away on 12th January,2026 at Lagos hospital Nigeria May God grant her eternal rest🙏

Bunmi Akinnaanu was a gospel singer and evangelist best known for the song Omije Ojumi, which gained wide recognition within Christian circles. Following the announcement of her death, colleagues and fans have continued to pay tribute to her life, music and ministry across social media.
