A tweet allegedly made by Aminu Adamu, a student of Federal University, Dutse after the killing of another student Deborah Samuel in May for alleged blasphemy has gone viral.

Ms Samuel was a second-year student at Shehu Shagari College of Education (SSCOE) Sokoto when she was set on fire over a WhatsApp comment which was termed blasphemous.

Adamu, on the other hand, is on trial for allegedly defaming first lady Aisha Buhari.

A tweet allegedly made by Adamu with the handle @aminullahie has gone viral.

Adamu, on May 16, 2022, allegedly posted a picture of a shirt with Samuel’s image on it and an inscription “murdered by peace.”

His alleged caption for the post in Hausa read “Duk Wanda yasa wannan rigar ah Bauchi sai munchi uwarsa.” The statement means in English, “Anyone who wears this in Bauchi would be dealt with.”

Adamu, who is in his final year in school, was arraigned before an FCT High Court on Tuesday on charges of defamation and remanded in Suleja prison.

On June 9, Adamu tweeted a photo of Mrs Buhari with a caption in Hausa which translates to: “Mama is feeding fat on poor people’s money.”
