AfroBasket: D’Tigress book semi-final spot with victory over Mozambique

DTigressD’Tigress of Nigeria became the first team to qualify for the last four of the ongoing 2015 AfroBasket Women Championship in Yaoundé, Cameroon after seeing off Mozambique 71-66 in a keenly contested game on Thursday.

The two-time African champions continued their fine run of form notching their fifth consecutive victory at the tournament, on a day the country clocked 55.

Despite leading in the first quarter, D’Tigress fell behind in the second and third quarters to the Southern Africans, but sealed victory in the fourth quarter.

Ndidi Madu and Joyce Ekworomadu continued their tournament exploits with yet another top-notch performance for Nigeria.

The star duo contributed a game high 13 rebounds and 20 points respectively in the game.

D’Tigress will now face the winner between Egypt and Cameroon on Friday for a spot in the final.
