AFRIMA unveils programme of event for 2019 edition

The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA, in conjunction with the Africa Union Commission (AUC) have unveiled the programme of events for the sixth edition of the prestigious awards ceremony.

Per the programme of events, projected activities will take place between May 15 and November 9, 2019.

The events on the AFRIMA 2019 calendar include the ‘Call for Entry/Entry Submission’ opening on May 15 to end on August 2, where African music professionals submit their musical works for award considerations.

From August 3 to 5; submitted entries will go through a ‘Pre-Screening’ process by the Screening Committee of AFRIMA, followed by the ‘AFRIMA Adjudication’ process from August 6 to August 12 conducted by the International Jury of AFRIMA.

A media announcement of AFRIMA 2019 Nominees’ List’ will take place on August 13 to unveil artistes whose works have been nominated.

Public voting will commence on August 19 and will be conducted on www.afrima.org, the voting process will close 24 hours before the main awards ceremony.

The main awards ceremony, a three-day fiesta of music and entertainment, holds from November 6 to November 9 in the official awards host city.

The 2018 edition of the main awards ceremony was hosted by the Republic of Ghana, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

There were performances from 2face Idibia, Fally Ipupa, 10-year old Ghanaian DJ Switch and several others.
