Vincent EnyeamaNigeria skipper Vincent Enyeama has withdrawn from the squad to play Tanzania in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, September 5.

The Lille shot-stopper was handed a call-up to the Super Eagles squad by coach Sunday Oliseh despite being at loggerhead with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over comments about safety of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna which hosted the win over Chad in June.

According to completesportsnigeria, the former Enyimba goalie won’t be available for Nigeria due to some personal issues related to his family.

“Enyeama has family issues to deal with at the moment and he has been ruled out of the game,” a close source said.

Although no official statement has been released by the NFF, it is believed the goalkeeper felt let down by the way he was treated by the Nigerian football authority.

Apart from Enyeama, the most capped player in Nigeria football history, all other 23 players invited have reported to camp for the game.

In the absence of Enyeama, Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, could get the nod to make his first appearance for Nigeria, while Ahmed Musa or Emmanuel Emenike could captain the team.
