Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has announced that the state’s index case of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has recovered and has been discharged.
Mr Ikpeazu said this on Friday while giving an update on the disease in Umuahia, capital of Abia.
He said the state plans to relax the lockdown in the coming days.
Ikpeazu, however, noted that relaxing the lockdown would be implemented under strict protocol guidelines.
As of Friday, Abia has two confirmed COVID-19 cases.
