Actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has penned a tribute to the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, commending his “leadership” and “developmental efforts” in Abuja.

In a lengthy message shared on Instagram on Friday, the former deputy governorship candidate of Rivers State described Wike as a rare kind of public servant whose transformational approach to governance has elevated the status of the FCT.

“In the annals of Nigeria’s unfolding democratic history, rare are the moments when a leader emerges—not merely to occupy office, but to redefine it,” she wrote.

“One such figure in our time is His Excellency, Nyesome Wike, the honourable Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory—a man whose name is now etched boldly into the evolving greatness of Abuja.”

Tonto hailed the minister for his “fierce commitment to excellence, order, and accountability,” noting that his leadership has resulted in measurable progress across the city.

“Under his stewardship, Abuja has not only regained its fading glory—it has ascended into a new era of purposeful beauty, structure, and growth,” she stated.

Listing Wike’s achievements, the actress highlighted the construction and rehabilitation of over 115 km of roads, creation of over 5,000 sanitation jobs, completion of three major healthcare centres, upgrade of 12 primary health centres and a 29% boost in the FCT’s internally generated revenue within a year.

She also noted the environmental strides made under Wike’s administration, citing the planting of over 100,000 trees as part of the FCT Beautification Master Plan.

Beyond infrastructure, Tonto praised the former Rivers governor’s political acumen and commitment to justice and equity.

“His brilliance does not merely lie in technocratic delivery—it lies in his understanding of power, governance, and the political architecture that drives real change,” she wrote.

“It is no surprise that whispers of a broader political future already echo in the corridors of power.”

Tonto concluded her tribute by declaring that Wike’s legacy would outlive his current position.

“Let it be said, and let it be known: Nyesome Wike is not merely serving Abuja—he is shaping a Nigeria that works… Abuja shines because your hands are on the wheel,” she added.
