Evangelist Silekunola Naomi, estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has given a charge to women to look beyond the way society perceives them.

In her message on Tuesday, March 8 in commemoration of the 2022 International Women’s Day celebration themed “BreakTheBias: Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,” Naomi dressed in white admonished women to develop a relationship with God to enjoy womanhood.

She posted a clip of her message on Instagram and the full version on her YouTube channel. The evangelist did not speak about her marriage in the video.

“I need you to look beyond your human reasoning. I need you to look beyond where they limit you as a woman,” she said. “Look beyond your weaknesses, look beyond how the society perceives every woman. Look beyond how the society sees your decisions as a woman, look beyond how the society looks at you.”

The prophetess had announced her separation from the Ooni in December 2021. She returned to social media in February 2022.

In the video, Naomi quoted Isaiah 40:1-2 which talks about God giving comfort to his people.

She explained that womanhood is a state that is not attained by age.

“It’s not about the age but how much growth you have experienced. Womanhood is a state of being passionate, resilient and so many things. However, it is a state that needs to be enjoyed, not endured,” Naomi added.

While announcing her separation from the Ooni, Naomi had said, “I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised I had just one assignment, my son, and when God is done, He is done.”
