4 super movies not to miss this month

Deciding which of the many trending movies to see is not as easy as buying popcorn. But you need not worry; we have come up with a list of four flicks to spice up your month.

1. Wives on Strike

A hilarious comedy about a group of Nigerian market women who decided to take matters into their own hands against their husbands in a bid to stir them into standing up for a young girl whom they wanted to protect from the wishes of her own father.

The women, who hilariously interpret their roles, set a series of events in motion to give the movie many moments of laughter without missing a beat on the reason for everyone to know why they are on strike.

It is produced and directed by Omoni Oboli, who stars alongside Uche Jombo, Ufuoma McDermott, Chioma Akpotha, Bovi, Julius Agwu and Monalisa Chinda.

2. Entreat

Sharon is a young executive who owns a growing consultancy firm in Lagos. She is in an open secret relationship with Tunde, one of her staff. Tunde loves Sharon but he’s not very sure if she will be totally humble and respect him as the man in the relationship. After a night out together, they had an argument over who should have settled the bill, and the argument resulted in a quarrel which took Tunde away from the office and separated them for some days. In a bid to resolve the issue, Sharon went to Tunde’s house and there she found something more interesting…a script; which Tunde has been working on privately. The movie stars Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Osas Ajibade, among others.

      3. The Huntsman

As a war between rival queen sisters Ravenna and Freya escalates, Eric and fellow warrior Sara, members of the Huntsmen army raised to protect Freya, try to conceal their forbidden love as they combat Ravenna’s wicked intentions.

The movie is directed by award-winning Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, French film director and visual effects artist. Chris Hemsworth, Jessica Chastain, and Charlize Theron are reoccurring faces in the movie.

    4. Barbershop 3: The Next Cut

It’s been more than 10 years since the last appointment at Calvin’s Barbershop.

Calvin and his long-time crew, including Eddie, are still there, but the shop has undergone some major changes. Most noticeably, the once male-dominated sanctuary is now co-ed.

The ladies bring their own flavour, drama and gossip to the shop challenging the fellas at every turn.

Despite the good times and camaraderie within the shop, the surrounding community has taken a turn for the worse, forcing Calvin and our crew to come together to not only save the shop, but their neighbourhood.

Ice Cube, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson feature in this film.
