knife attack stabbing

A woman Kehinde Ajimosu has been arraigned by the police in an Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a knife on the stomach, hand and buttocks.

The 24-year-old resident of Akindele Street Olodi-Apapa Lagos is facing a two-count charge of assault and breach of peace, to which she pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor Ferdinand Asu told the court that the accused committed the offences on November 4 at her residence.

Mr Asu alleged that the accused assaulted the complainant Aare Aminu by stabbing him with a knife on the stomach, hand and buttocks because she thought the complainant was cheating on her.

He said that Ms Ajimosu also conducted herself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by running on the street with a knife in her hand.

Asu added that efforts made by witnesses to stop her from stabbing her boyfriend proved abortive.

The offences contravened Sections 168 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

NAN reports that Section 173 prescribes a three-year jail term for an offender found guilty.

Chief Magistrate Michael Olubi granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case until January 9, 2019.
