Feranmi Aladegbonmire, a 16-year-old boy who was diagnosed with brain tumour in October 2021, has died.

His parents confirmed his death in an email to Qed.ng on Sunday.

Aladegbonmire, who spent his last birthday on November 21 on the sickbed, died on Friday, December 3.

“The parents of Feranmi expressed their gratitude to those that contributed to save the life of their son (Oluwaferanmi David Aladegbonmire). However, the boy passed on to meet the Lord on Friday 3/12/21,” the brief statement read.

Aladegbonmire, shortly after his WAEC exam at the Staff Secondary School, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), was diagnosed with brain tumour.

His parents moved him from different hospitals to save his life. He was in coma and on oxygen for over a month at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

The family had reached out to the public to help raise N2 million urgently to return him to the intensive care unit (ICU) to try and stabilise him and an additional N8million for permanent treatment through chemotherapy in India.
