16 habits you should not take into 2016

The year 2016 is here and so many people have written their resolutions. We have come up with some bad habits that should not be ushered into a new year.

Here are 16 of them.

  1. Procrastination

Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task which needs to be accomplished. If you are in the habit of procrastinating, stop that and do what you need to do now. Make a schedule if you have to but make sure you do not put the activity in for 2017.

  1. Reckless spending

If you are the type that enjoys spending everything you have without saving a little, change your act in 2016. Keep something for your family or yourself, you tend to reap the fruits of your labour later.

  1. Living like a celebrity

Stop deceiving yourself that you are Toke Makinwa. She works so hard to keep that name flowing. It is ok for you to wear a cool dress or African print once in a while; I mean have you met DJ Cuppy. If the celebrity life is killing you, quit it now.

  1. Clinging to your phone

Yes, it is the 21st century and everything you need can be done from the tip of your finger using your phone. It is also important you know that being a phone addict is a real problem and might prevent you from seeing the great opportunities staring at you in 2016.

  1. Womanising

O ye that womanise, the time have come for you to stop! Listen to that voice in your head, except it is telling you to woo that lady on your street, then do not. If you are man over 30 and you still womanise, you need to turn to Adekunle Gold and get married already. Your parents desperately need a grandchild

  1. Multiple boyfriends

You are a 27-year-old woman with multiple boyfriends, what exactly is your profession again? Clear the roaster and stick to the one you see a future with. It is better that way.

  1. Stalking your ex on social media

The New Year is here, which means old things are going away and new things are coming in. Stop stalking your ex in the year 2016, he or she already moved on.

  1. Taking needless loans

Before ushering into a new year, it is advisable to clear off all your debts. In 2016 you should also try not to get any more loans if you have already cultivated a habit of doing this.

  1. Being a problem child

If you have been terrible child to your parents through 2015 or the last half of the year, it is advisable you stop the habit and be a better child. After all, God commanded you to “honour thy father and thy mother.”

  1. Holding on to a loser

Losers come in different types. They might be a cheating partner, an over jealous one or an abusive one. Either ways, you should dump that type of partner and move on to better things.

  1. Excessive drinking

It is nice to have an occasional drink or two with friends and family, but, when every living breathing moment of yours has to do with a bar, it is a big problem. Start the New Year by quitting the one habit that might actually kill you.

  1. Twerking on Instagram

This act is what people call, been there, done that, it came in 2015, let it leave in 2015. Please do not shake your assets on Instagram, there are too many of those videos already to last a life time.

  1. Lateness

Punctuality tells a lot about an individual, it says you are responsible and honourable. If you are known as the late comer in your office, you need to stop doing that and try to get in early in the New Year.

  1. Complaining

Life is not a bed of roses, if it was, everyone would be living on Banana Island. Dump the act of constantly complaining and work towards achieving a better year. It is actually as simple as it sounds.

  1. Immaturity

If more than one person already told you, “you are immature” in 2015, you probably are. Try acting mature in 2016. Do things like an adult and earn respect because you deserve it.

  1. Living in the box

Of course, you should live life. Stop putting yourself in a box afraid to explore what is out there. Give the world a chance. The world is beautiful, so is year 2016.
