‎NFF crisis deepens, two board members suspended

Maigari

The crisis in Nigerian football deepened on Thursday as the Executive Committee of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) suspended two of its top members for alleged anti-football activities.

A statement by a board member, Emeka Inyama, identified those suspended as Chairman of the NFF Technical Committee, Barrister Chris Green, and Yusuf Ahmed ‘Fresh’.

Inyama said Mr. Greene was suspended for six months while Mr. Ahmed was suspended for one year.

The board had earlier removed former chairman of the federation, Aminu Maigari.

Green and Ahmed are seen as Maigari’s loyalists.

Another member of the Board, Yaya Kwande, is being investigated.

The Board, which met in Abuja, is to reconvene next week to take decisions on other critical matters.
