Singer Zinoleesky has dismissed claims that he has exited Naira Marley’s Marlian Records, after a series of social media posts sparked speculation about his future with the label.
The drama began when the 24-year-old wrote on Instagram:
“I am standing up not just for myself but for every artist who’s ever felt powerless or taken advantage of. We deserve better. We deserve transparency, fairness and respect.”
The post was widely interpreted as a veiled criticism of his management, leading many to assume he had walked away from Marlian Records.
But Zinoleesky quickly shut down the rumour. In a follow-up post on Sunday, he wrote:
“NM for life… Make una Dey whine una sef.”
He doubled down on X (Twitter), declaring: “MARLIAN FOREVER!”
Talk of a possible split first surfaced in September 2023 following Mohbad’s death, when fans noticed that Zinoleesky had removed “Marlian Music” from his Instagram bio and replaced it with “Zinonymous Sound”.
The switch fuelled speculation that he was preparing to float his own imprint.
At the time, several media outlets highlighted concerns raised by producer ID Cabasa, who alleged that some of Zinoleesky’s assets, including a house and cars were bought under Marlian Records’ name, not the singer’s.
Despite the controversies surrounding the label, Zinoleesky has maintained a close relationship with Naira Marley.
