Zenith Bank Plc has announced the opening of a branch in Manchester as part of its operations in the United Kingdom.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for March 17.

Government officials from Nigeria and the United Kingdom, regulators, investors, customers and business leaders are expected to attend.

According to the bank, the Manchester branch will support businesses involved in trade and investment.

It will provide corporate banking, trade finance, treasury and other financial services to clients in the United Kingdom, Europe and Africa.

Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Adaora Umeoji said the new branch is part of the bank’s growth and its effort to connect businesses and markets.

“The opening of our Manchester branch represents another step in Zenith Bank’s growth as an African financial institution connecting businesses and markets across continents,” she said.

Zenith Bank Plc was founded in 1990 by Jim Ovia.

The bank has its headquarters in Lagos and operates branches and offices across Nigeria.

It also has subsidiaries in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Côte d’Ivoire.

Outside Africa, the bank operates in the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates and China.

The Manchester branch will work with the bank’s London operations and its international network to support clients doing business in the United Kingdom and Africa.
