Actress Yvonne Jegede has responded to online backlash following her advice to fellow actress Regina Daniels on social media.

Yvonne had on Monday urged Regina to prioritise her peace of mind and walk away from any violent situation.

“Regina, you are still very young. If there’s violence in your marriage, please carry your bag. There is never sugarcoating for me as long as violence is involved (both for man and woman),” she wrote on Instagram.

Her post came amid growing controversy surrounding Regina’s marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko. What began as one of Nollywood’s most talked-about love stories has now turned into a public storm of accusations, heartbreak, and alleged violence.

The couple, once admired for their public display of affection and opulent lifestyle, became the centre of attention again after a recent viral video showed Regina looking visibly shaken. In the clip, she said, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing. In my house, I am a queen. I cannot stand the violence again.”

The video sparked outrage and concern, reigniting conversations about domestic violence and the pressures behind celebrity marriages.

Regina’s brother, Sammy West, later alleged that she was physically assaulted, claiming her head was “smashed against a wall.”

Senator Nwoko, however, denied the allegations in a strongly worded statement. He accused Regina of battling drug and alcohol addiction and said he has never been violent toward her. According to him, she needs help, not headlines.

Social media remains divided. While some see Regina as a victim of domestic abuse, others believe she is seeking sympathy after years of privilege.

Amid the heated debate, Yvonne’s advice drew mixed reactions. Many users accused her of seeking attention and meddling in another person’s marriage. Some also criticised her for speaking on the issue as a single mother.

The 42-year-old mother of one, however, stood by her words. In another post, she made it clear that she was unbothered by the criticism.

“I can’t see all your negative comments because I’m too busy enjoying the good times with mine,” she stated.

Yvonne Jegede married Olakunle Fawole, popularly known as Abounce, son of the late actress Bukky Ajayi, in 2018. The marriage ended the following year after the birth of their son.

She later revealed that she contributed more financially to the marriage than her husband.
