Actress Yvonne Jegede has reacted to backlash over her advice to fellow actress Regina Daniels amid reports of crisis in her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko.

Yvonne on Monday urged Regina to leave if there was violence in her marriage.

“Regina, you are still very young. If there’s violence in your marriage, please carry your bag. There is never sugarcoating for me as long as violence is involved (both for man and woman),” she wrote on Instagram.

Her post drew mixed reactions online, with some accusing her of seeking attention.

Responding on her Instagram Story, Yvonne wrote: “I can’t see all your negative comments because I’m too busy enjoying the good times with mine.”

In an earlier video, the mother of one criticised those who excused domestic violence because of wealth.

“You people on this internet cannot even be real. A young girl has come out to cry for help that she’s been violated in her home. And the first thing you people would think of is, are you not married to a rich man? If she was married to a poor man and the man is beating her, would that make a difference?” she asked.

Regina Daniels recently went viral after hinting that she could no longer endure violence in her marriage. In response, Ned Nwoko denied being abusive, alleging instead that Regina had issues with drugs and alcohol.

He wrote: “I have other wives and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here.”

Regina married Ned Nwoko in 2019.

Their marriage has been a subject of public debate because of the wide age gap between them. They share two sons.
