Actress Iyabo Ojo has showered praises on her colleague and close friend Funke Akindele for gifting her a brand new iPhone, describing the gesture as thoughtful and heartwarming.
Iyabo made the revelation late Monday on Instagram, where she posted a clip of the phone while attending fashion designer Veekee James’ birthday celebration.
She applauded Funke for being a dependable friend who keeps to her promises, calling her the “real MVP.”

Responding in the comment section, Funke reaffirmed her affection for Iyabo, encouraging her to fully embrace the switch.
“Iyabo!! If I catch you, I love you, my darling. Now change that phone,” she wrote.
Their warm exchange comes after years of estrangement. The duo previously had a fallout when Iyabo publicly dragged Funke for allegedly throwing shade at Toyin Abraham’s film The Ghost and the Tout in 2021.
The rift lingered until 2022, when the two reconciled at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) season 8. They were seen exchanging hugs and pecks, signaling the end of their feud.
Since then, Iyabo and Funke have visibly rebuilt their friendship.
In May 2025, Funke flew to Tanzania to attend the traditional wedding finale of Iyabo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo. Iyabo personally welcomed her at the airport with flowers and a cape, embracing her warmly before cameras.
