Your life is an example of faith, Sanwo-Olu hails Bishop Mike Okonkwo at 80

Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has celebrated the founder of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Bishop Mike Okonkwo, on his 80th birthday.

In a message shared on Instagram on Saturday, Sanwo-Olu described Bishop Okonkwo’s life as an example of faith, service and commitment to humanity.

The governor expressed gratitude for the bishop’s wisdom and guidance, saying it continues to impact not only the church but also the nation.

“Your life has been a remarkable example of faith, service, and commitment to humanity. I am grateful for the wisdom and guidance you continue to share, not only within the church but across our nation”, he wrote.

He also prayed that the years ahead for Okonkwo would be filled with strength, peace and joy.

“Happy birthday. May your years ahead be filled with strength, peace, and joy,” the governor added.

Other tributes came from former vice president Yemi Osinbajo and gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey.

Bishop Okonkwo founded TREM in 1981.

He is also the convener of the annual Kingdom Life World Conference and a former banker.
