Young Jonn postpones Blue Disco album release over insecurity

Singer and producer Young Jonn has postponed the release of his upcoming album Blue Disco over the rising insecurity across Nigeria.

The 30-year-old announced the decision in a statement on Friday on X, expressing concern about the country’s tense atmosphere.

“It’s disheartening that Nigeria is still confronted with such overwhelming challenges; the insecurity has become unbearable, and it’s very clear that the leaders and we citizens must rise to do better, even as we pray for God’s strength to guide and sustain us through these difficult times,” he wrote.

He continued: “In light of these, I’ve decided to postpone the release of my album BLUE DISCO to a later date.”

The album, which features Wizkid, Rema, Asake and Olamide, was originally scheduled for release on November 21 (Today). Young Jonn had previously described Blue Disco as one of his most ambitious projects, coming barely a year after his debut album Jiggy Forever.

The singer ended his announcement with a prayer, saying: “Above all, I’m praying for healing across our nation that God restores peace, unity, and hope to Nigeria.”

Young Jonn did not reveal a new release date, but his decision has drawn support from fans who praised him for showing empathy toward ongoing national concerns.
