Singer Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has called out her former record label boss Jude Okoye, warning that he will face the consequences of his actions.
The 32-year-old made the statement in a now deleted post Instagram Story, years after their public fallout in 2016.
“All you’ve done since 2016 is talk behind my back. All efforts to see you in person have been to no avail. It is no news that I am disappointed in you… and I know you’re also disappointed in yourself; hence, your ‘no-face policy,’” she wrote.
Cynthia, who was previously signed to Jude Okoye’s Northside Entertainment, added that while she has accepted her own share of blame for past mistakes, Jude must also take responsibility for allegedly holding back her earnings.
“I know I had to reap my own destruction for sowing in flesh, and you too will reap yours for being an instrument and for holding back such earnings through dishonesty. As we all know, God cannot be mocked,” she added.
Cynthia’s reply is a response to Jude’s recent jabs at her and Peter Okoye. The singer maintained that she would rather speak facts than engage in insults.
Jude, who is the elder brother to music duo Peter and Paul Okoye (Psquare), has yet to respond to the accusations as of press time.
Cynthia Morgan shot into the spotlight after releasing hits like ‘Don’t Break My Heart’ and ‘Lead Me On.’ However, her career took a downturn following her departure from Northside Entertainment.
In a 2020 Instagram Live session, the singer revealed that she lost access to her stage name, social media pages and royalties after parting ways with the label. The revelation sparked public sympathy and led to online campaigns for her comeback.
Jude Okoye denied the allegations at the time, claiming he never stopped Cynthia from using her name and that she left the label on her own terms.
As part of efforts to rebuild her life, Cynthia recently allowed fans to support her through a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser, titled “Help Cynthia Morgan (Madrina) Rise Again,” was launched by a fan and has been shared by the singer on her Instagram page. Cynthia clarified that the campaign, which is still under review, is not necessarily aimed at reviving her music career but to support her new direction, which includes ministry and real estate.
Jude is also under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged misappropriation of royalties, a development that has added more controversy to his dealings with former artists.
