Veteran journalist and broadcaster Reuben Abati has penned a heartfelt message to his wife Kikelomo Atanda-Owo as they celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary.
In a post shared on Instagram on Thursday, Abati praised his wife for being a source of both comfort and confrontation, saying she has played a vital role in his personal growth.
“In life, we all need both a comforter and a confronter, and somehow, you are both for me,” he wrote.
“The one who challenges me to grow and tell me the bitter truth, yet embraces me with warmth and strength.”
Reflecting on a promise he made to his father-in-law, the former presidential spokesperson said, “I gave your father my word that I would never be a burden to you and while we’ve had our fair share of storms, we’ve managed each other with grace, understanding, and love.”
He continued, “You’ve loved me despite my past. You are my present. And it is my deepest desire that you remain forever. Now it’s time to fulfil that promise I made to repay the bride price because you are truly my emotions wrapped in sincerity.”
“Happy 5th Anniversary, Kiki,” he added, sharing photos of them together.

Reuben Abati and Kikelomo Atanda-Owo got married in 2020.
While they do not have children together, Kikelomo has children from a previous relationship.
