Former actor Yomi Fabiyi has openly defied a court order barring him and four others from publicly discussing Wunmi, the widow of late singer Mohbad and their son, Liam.
The restraining order was issued by an Ikeja Magistrate Court in Lagos, prohibiting the individuals from making public statements or inciting actions against Wunmi and her child for one year.
In a TikTok video shared on Friday, Yomi declared his refusal to comply with the court’s directive. He said, “I have never committed a crime by mentioning your name, Wunmi. I will tell the judge that I will continue to mention your name, and I will give my reasons.
“The way I have been mentioning your name is legitimate and lawful. This is a public matter of great importance, and I will not stop.
“Wunmi, you went to get a court order that I and some others should not mention your name again, but I will continue to do so. Were you not in the house when Mohbad died? Have you forgotten that you also went to media houses and mentioned my name? Let us meet in court,” he added.
“We are talking about an innocent boy who was killed untimely. Who do you think you are dealing with?”
Yomi further accused Wunmi of using legal avenues to avoid police investigations, calling her actions an abuse of power.
The court’s decision comes after months of public disputes surrounding Mohbad’s death and the paternity of his son. It aims to protect Omowunmi and Liam from potential harm, including bullying, threats and public incitement.
Yomi has repeatedly denied allegations that he is profiting from the campaign, emphasizing that his main concern is seeking truth and accountability.
