An X user has apologised to brand influencer Priscilla Ojo after falsely attributing a comment about postpartum depression to her online.

The issue began when a post on Friday circulated claiming Priscilla said she did not experience postpartum depression after childbirth because her love for her husband “tripled” and described postpartum depression as “an illusion caused by poverty.”

The post read: “Priscilla Ojo was asked about marriage after childbirth. She said she never experienced postpartum depression; instead, her love for her husband tripled. She believes postpartum depression is an illusion caused by poverty. I believe her, do you think so?”

Priscilla, who is married to Tanzanian musician Juma Jux, responded on her Instagram Story, denying she ever made such a statement. She wrote: “I never said this. What’s wrong with Twitter people? Be ready to provide evidence. What do you mean I said ‘postpartum is an illusion caused by poverty’? Insulting to mothers… very insensitive.”

In a later statement on Saturday, the social media user apologised, saying: “I am deeply sorry, Priscilla. I sincerely ask for your forgiveness… I take full responsibility for what was posted on my page, and I am pleading not for what I deserve, but for mercy.”

Priscilla and Juma Jux welcomed their first child, a son, in 2025.
