Actress Wumi Toriola has hit back at her senior colleague, Afeez Owo, following his remarks in a recent interview.
In a chat with Behind The Fame – African List, Afeez, who is married to actress Mide Martins, said Wumi only reacts when people push her. He explained that if people did not look for trouble with her, she would not react, but she does not tolerate nonsense.
Not pleased with his statement, Wumi lashed out in a now-deleted video, questioning if she should rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things.
She also highlighted Afeez’s age, urging him to stop the drama and asked if she would lash out at people who did not offend her. She stressed that she had never insulted him and, despite his “unfortunate behaviours,” she still respected him.
She said, “So should we also go and rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things? The person this sub is for knows it already. You’re an elder, please stop this. Must every rift now be dragged to podcasts? They gave you a mic, and you started talking rubbish. They gave you pepper soup, and you began blabbing. Am I a mad woman? Will I lash out if people don’t offend me? Despite all your unfortunate behaviours, I still respect you.”
Her statement has sparked reactions on social media, with netizens criticising her tone and warning her to calm down.
Some argued that Afeez did not say anything offensive, while others felt Wumi’s response was too harsh.
