Actress Wumi Toriola and actor Afeez Owo have reconciled weeks after a public spat that had social media buzzing.
A video shared on Thursday captured the reconciliation which took place during the premiere of Odunlade Adekola’s movie Warlord, where Wumi was seen kneeling before Afeez in a display of apology.
The feud started in September when Afeez, who is married to actress Mide Martins, said in an interview with Behind The Fame – African List that Wumi “only reacts when people push her” and “does not tolerate nonsense.”
Wumi hit back in a now-deleted video, questioning if she should “rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things” and criticising the public airing of the feud. She said:
“So should we also go and rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things? The person this sub is for knows it already. You’re an elder, please stop this. Must every rift now be dragged to podcasts? They gave you a mic, and you started talking rubbish. They gave you pepper soup, and you began blabbing. Am I a mad woman? Will I lash out if people don’t offend me? Despite all your unfortunate behaviours, I still respect you.”
The clash drew massive online attention.
At the Warlord premiere, the two actors appeared to bury the hatchet. Wumi was seen kneeling before Afeez, exchanging smiles, light conversation and embraces, signalling that the feud had ended.
Fans on social media reacted with relief and praise, commending Wumi for showing humility and Afeez for accepting her apology.
