World Stage Limited

World Stage Limited has announced November 20, as the new date for the WorldStage Economic Summit (WES) 2025, with the theme “Tackling the Issue of Low Productivity in Nigeria.”

The summit aims to examine Nigeria’s economic challenges through practical engagement between the public and private sectors, focusing on research, innovation and actionable policy discussions.

In a statement issued by the organiser, WES 2025 is expected to bring together federal and state government representatives as well as stakeholders from sectors responsible for food production, job creation, energy, banking, technology transfer and export promotion.

Participants will include professionals and institutions from manufacturing, oil and gas, housing, agriculture, water resources, maritime, ICT, aviation, mining, tourism, health, education, transport and investment sectors.

President and CEO of World Stage Limited, Segun Adeleye, said the summit will address the productivity gap that continues to affect economic growth and living standards in Nigeria.

“Even though many people are working, almost half of Nigerians are estimated to be poor, living below the national poverty line,” Adeleye said.

“The question remains: if the economy is transforming, is it producing higher productivity jobs that can raise living standards?”

He noted that WES 2025 will offer a platform to discuss policies that can generate employment, reform holiday schedules to reduce economic loss, support small-scale enterprises and align education and training with market needs.

Discussions will also explore the need for a stable macroeconomic environment through fiscal and exchange rate reforms, improving international trade by removing restrictions and upgrading trade infrastructure and integrating mineral resources into national revenue generation in line with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The summit will address financing structural changes by improving tax administration and supporting national skills development to improve digital capabilities among the youth.

WES 2024 focused on setting the stage for economic recovery in Nigeria and featured presentations from key public sector officials including Khalil Halilu of NASENI, Aminu Maida of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Emomotimi Agama of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), among others.

WorldStage Economic Summit has consistently provided a platform for dialogue on policy formulation, economic reform and collaboration across sectors.
