Comedian and content creator turned prophet, Oluwatoyin Bayegun, popularly known as Woli Arole, has narrated how he was scammed by a man shortly after returning from a prayer mountain.
Arole shared the incident in a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday while cautioning his followers to be careful when helping others.
“Be careful how you help people. Be led when you want to help people,” he said.
The 35-year-old explained that a man approached him, pretending to be a fan.
The man claimed that Arole had prayed for him and that the prayer helped him secure a visa. He then asked for N200,000, saying he needed extra money for his travel.
Overwhelmed with joy at the testimony, Arole said he willingly gave the man the money.
However, weeks later, he said he saw the same man at a restaurant, eating a plate of amala with assorted goat meat (ogunfe) and cow skin (ponmo). That was when he realised he had been duped.
When he confronted the man, Arole said the man casually responded, “E calm down, so pe o ti loor,” and begged him not to be angry.
Arole ended the video by telling his followers to stop flooding his DM with requests for help, saying they should seek assistance elsewhere.
