Singers Wizkid and Tems’ hit song ‘Essence’ has been featured as a soundtrack in the new Hollywood television series The Burbs, starring Keke Palmer.
This will not be the first time the song is being featured in an Hollywood movie.
It has officially been featured as a soundtrack in four TV series, Ted Lasso (2020), And Just Like That (2021), All American (2024) and The Burbs (2026).
Making history as the first African song to achieve this incredible milestone.
Essence was released in 2020 as part of Wizkid’s album Made in Lagos and went on to gain international success. The song became the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and received a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Performance.
Since its release, the song has continued to gain international recognition, with its inclusion in film and television productions reflecting its lasting popularity and global reach.
