Wife of late ambassador Demola Seriki, Oluremi Seriki, dies four days before birthday

Oluremi Seriki, wife of the late Nigerian ambassador to Spain, Demola Seriki, died in New York after a brief illness on Friday, October 24, four days before her 66th birthday.

Her death was announced on Sunday in a statement signed by her children, Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, Olawale Demola-Seriki and Kanyinsola Demola-Seriki.

The statement read, in part, “With heavy hearts and profound gratitude to God, we announce the passing of our beloved Matriarch, Grandmother, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend after a brief illness.”

The statement also said, “She lived a life of unwavering faith, grace, and compassion — touching every heart she met with her kindness, wisdom, and strength. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing she now rests in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.”

Mrs Oluremi Seriki was born on October 28, 1960.

She died at the age of 65.

She was the first wife of the late Demola Seriki, who died on December 15, 2022, in Madrid, Spain, while serving as Nigeria’s ambassador.
