Why my daughter appears in my content — Kiekie

Actress and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga, popularly known as Kiekie, has explained why her daughter appears in her social media content, saying the child is naturally suited for the camera.

Speaking at The Creative Blueprint 2.0, Kiekie said she avoids including her husband, Tunji Ilori, in her videos because “he is not funny”.

The actress added that she features her daughter Nola on her social media because “she is made for the camera”.

She, however, clarified that there is a limit to how often her daughter appears in her content, noting that she only creates content with her during academic breaks.

Kiekie stressed the importance of setting boundaries between personal life and public brand, especially for content creators and celebrities.

“I have created a very thick line between what is personal to me as Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori and what is personal to my brand as Kiekie. What are the elements of my brand? Event and TV host, actor, and content creator. What is my content? Comic,” she said.

She also warned against excessive exposure of family members on social media.

“We overmilk viral moments until it becomes annoying. And that is where oversharing comes in,” she added.

Kiekie, who got married to Tunji Ilori in 2020, rose to prominence through short comedic skits on social media and has built a reputation for clean, family friendly humour and brand focused storytelling. She is also known for her work as an event host and television presenter, and has featured in Nollywood productions in recent years.
