General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye has explained why he no longer employs a female secretary.

He made the disclosure on Tuesday night during the ongoing RCCG Holy Congress 2025, themed “God of All Flesh.”

The programme, which began on Monday, December 8, is scheduled to end on Sunday, December 14.

Pastor Adeboye said his decision was based on caution and the need to avoid situations that could lead to temptation or misunderstanding.

He explained that his work schedule often required him to stay in the office late at night, prompting him to make changes to his administrative arrangements.

“From the moment I got to this campground, from the moment I got to a stage where at night I still have to work, I ceased to have a female secretary,” he said.

“Some people think it is gender discrimination. I know myself. I know who I was before Jesus saved my soul. I know the possibility of dangers being left alone at night with people of the opposite gender.”

He recalled that his former secretary at the church’s Ebute Meta headquarters was a “wonderful child of God,” but added that he decided against having a female secretary after moving to the Redemption Camp.

“When I got here, I knew I would still be in the office at 3 a.m., and I could imagine, after a long day’s work, when everybody had finally seen the last visitor and then my secretary comes in at 2 a.m., saying, ‘We’re through now, sir. Is there any way I can help you? A cup of tea to relax?’ At 2 a.m. Jonah must go,” he said.

Pastor Adeboye said the decision was aimed at maintaining discipline and setting clear boundaries in his ministry and personal life.
