Actress Shaffy Bello has revealed why she is no longer interested in dating younger men.
The 54-year-old made this known during an appearance on the Dear Ife podcast hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, saying she has outgrown that phase of her life.
“There is no need for me to date a younger man. I have dated a younger man and don’t want to do it again. What I want now is different,” she said.
Speaking further, the mother of two said she was only having fun at the time but the season has passed.
“When I dated a younger man, I was having fun. It was for a season, and the season is over. But there is nothing wrong with it,” she said.
The actress added that she still receives romantic messages from younger and older men online, but is not impressed by the way some of them approach her.
“Men slide into my DM, over 50 and even younger men. It’s flattering, but the thing is, some of them are badly behaved. Some will tell me ‘Hi dear’,” she said.
Shaffy, who was previously married for 25 years, also said she is open to marrying again.
“What I want now is marriage; I don’t mind marriage. But I have a different opinion when it comes to marriage. I think a lot of people are rigid when it comes to marriage,” she said.
Shaffy Bello is best known for her roles in films and series like Chief Daddy, Shanty Town, Tinsel, The Score and Battleground.
She was formerly based in the US before returning to Nigeria to fully pursue her acting career.
