Actress Queen Nwokoye has revealed that her family always comes before her career, explaining why she hasn’t worked with some of the industry’s biggest names until now.
In an interview with Seun Oloketuyi shared online on Sunday, she said, “My family comes first when it comes to my career; Toyin has been calling me since 2016, I just got to work with her this year. Funke has never done a movie without calling me, but the timing is always off.”
Queen, who made her Nollywood debut in 2004, has remained one of the industry’s respected actresses.
The actress, who lost both her parents in 2019, has spoken openly about how personal tragedy shaped her priorities. She said, “I started 2019 with my Mum and My Dad and within six months, I became an orphan. I still don’t know how I managed to pull through two burial ceremonies within six months. Today, I have made a decision to be happy and put everything behind me. God is in control.”
Queen has been married to businessman Oluchi Uzoma since 2011, and the couple have three children together. She has always kept her private life off social media, emphasising that her home is her safe space.
Queen Nwokoye is also set to feature in Toyin Abraham’s upcoming film Oversabi Aunty. The movie, which marks Toyin Abraham’s directorial debut, is scheduled for cinema release on 19 December.
Other cast members include Mike Ezuruonye, Efe Irele, Jemima Osunde and Tana Adelana.
