Actress Bisola Aiyeola has opened up on why she is yet to appear in a Yoruba epic film despite receiving several offers.
The 39-year-old spoke during an interview at the premiere of Odunlade Adekola’s new movie War Lord on Wednesday, explaining that her busy schedule has made it difficult to commit to such productions.
Bisola said, “So to be honest, God willing, it will come soon, but for every time that I have been called to be— I’ve been called to be in quite a number, but every time, the timing is just not right. I’ve already taken money from some other gig, or I have some other gig that’s happening, and the timing just doesn’t work for filming. You know, but fingers crossed, I’m hoping that very soon, very soon.”
The former Big Brother Naija star noted that although she is interested in the genre, she has had to prioritise previously booked engagements, which often clash with the lengthy shooting schedules of epic movies.
Bisola, who rose to fame after finishing as first runner-up on BBNaija 2017, has since built a solid Nollywood career, appearing in several popular projects including Picture Perfect, Ovy’s Voice, Gold Statue, The Bling Lagosians, Sugar Rush, This Lady Called Life, Payday, Introducing the Kujus, and the series Skinny Girl in Transit, where she played the fan-favourite character Didi.
She also co-produced Introducing the Kujus and has continued to diversify her work in film, television, and hosting.
