Former Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has revealed why she didn’t join the 2025 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) despite earlier expressing interest.
In a video shared on her X page, she said, “I also want to do Big Brother next year. I wanted to do it this year, but my manager said I couldn’t because I’m still Miss Universe Nigeria.”
Adetshina had first announced her intention to join BBNaija in August 2024, but she eventually missed out on the season, which wrapped up in October with Imisi winning the N80 million cash prize and a brand-new SUV.
Reflecting on her time in Nigeria, Adetshina said, “I really enjoyed my stay in Nigeria, and even now, like I said, once I get my documents sorted, I am going back. Nigeria was really great for me.”
She added, “The eight months I spent there were amazing. I feel there is more to explore; there are so many opportunities in Nigeria.”
In November 2024, Adetshina announced she would take a break from pageants to focus on her education, modeling and acting career.
“There are so many things I would like to try … runways, acting, and explore many other areas,” she said, noting that pageantry had sometimes been “traumatic” and that she needed to prioritize her mental health.
She has also spoken about the pressures of social media.
Despite missing BBNaija 2025, she confirmed her plans to join the 2026 edition.
“I really feel there’s more to explore, and I want to establish who Chidimma truly is,” she said. Now focused on building her brand, balancing studies, modeling, and acting, Adetshina is preparing for her next chapter, leaving fans eager to see her eventual BBNaija debut.
