Self‑acclaimed relationship expert and social media personality Blessing CEO has explained why she is not posting her medical diagnosis results on social media.
She says the results from her tests would be difficult for most people to understand without medical training, and that only doctors can properly interpret them. She added that some of her close friends have already taken the results to doctors abroad.
Blessing CEO made the remarks in a video message on Instagram on Thursday as she responded to critics who asked for proof of her stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis. She said her intention in speaking about her health was not to “beg Nigerians for money” but to be honest about what she is facing and that she has been moved by the support from followers.
She said, “I can’t put my result on social media because a lot of you cannot make a meaning out of it. Only medical doctors can. I don’t need multiple analyses. If you want the result or if someone prominent reaches out, I am going to share all the evidence.”
She also said, “The aim was not to beg for money. I was completely clueless because I didn’t know anything about cancer. The goal was to be vulnerable, not to beg Nigerians for money. A lot of my followers have been with me since I started social media and have become closer than family. I broke down, and I posted because my friends insisted that I could not do this alone.”
Blessing CEO first revealed her health condition in emotional videos posted on her Instagram page on Wednesday, where she said she has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and appealed for financial help to cover her treatment.
Her announcement triggered mixed reactions online, with some people expressing concern and support, while others like VeryDarkMan questioned her claim.
