Former Big Brother Naija housemate Roseline Afije, popularly known as Liquorose, has shut down rumours of a romantic relationship with fellow reality star Saga Deolu.
Speaking at her birthday party, Liquorose described Saga as more of a brother and confidant, saying there has never been anything romantic between them.
“People ask me why I don’t date Saga, and I’m like, have you seen us? That’s my gossip partner!” she said. “Once I leave here, I’m texting Saga and we’re going to laugh about this.”
She added, “I can’t date Saga. I can’t marry Saga. Not because he’s not attractive, but because we’ve gone beyond that. Saga is a very special person to me—he’s a friend, a brother, my partner in crime, 100%.”
Liquorose and Saga sparked dating rumours following their joint appearance in Couple Chronicles, a series of short skits where they portrayed lovers.
Their onscreen chemistry led many fans to believe there was something more off-screen.
However, the 29-year-old made it clear that their bond has evolved into a strong friendship with no romantic intentions.
Recall that in March, Saga addressed their relationship during an interview with QEDNG at the AMVCA press conference in Ilupeju, Lagos.
He said, “Liquorose is my paddi. Keep watching and keep enjoying our content.”
