Former security guards known as Happie Boys has visited Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere at his church, Omega Power Ministries in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The visit on Sunday drew attention because of their past conflict with the cleric, who was once their benefactor.
During the service, the duo addressed the congregation, alleging that they were influenced by individuals they described as enemies of Apostle Chinyere.
According to them, those persons persuaded them to publicly attack the cleric with promises of being taken to the United States.
“We were misled by people who wanted to harm you. They promised us opportunities abroad if we went against you, but we now see that we were wrong to follow them,” they said.
The Happie Boys came into the limelight in 2023 after being dismissed from their security jobs for dancing while on duty.
Their dismissal led to an appeal online, which attracted Apostle Chinyere’s attention.
The cleric awarded them scholarships to study abroad and sponsored their relocation to Turkey.
However, the relationship later broke down after they accused him of abandoning them in Cyprus.
They claimed that after six months of support, he stopped sending funds, leaving them stranded.
Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere explained that Nigeria’s economy made it difficult to continue with the scholarships.
He advised them to either return home or move to Benin Republic to continue their studies, but they refused.
