We have films in cinemas, Judith Audu reflects on decade in Nollywood with Rotimi Salami

Filmmaker Judith Audu has shared her pride in colleague Rotimi Salami and their journey in Nollywood.

On Instagram Tuesday, she posted photos of them together and wrote: “Hello Fam! The other day I saw my Paddi and a massive wave of pride ran through my system. Omo Salami I am so proud of you, of us! We have journeyed from far, and seeing where we are 10 years after is a thing of joy.

“Just Not Married is 10 years this year and seeing us do great things is so humbling. Look at us, we have films in cinemas at the same time. @stannze and I did in 2016 and it was beautiful.

‘Nothing gives me more joy than seeing my people win, especially when I know how hard they work and where they are coming from. Congratulations on Kilanko! Omo Salami @salamirotimi, well done.

‘Fam, Kilanko is showing in cinemas nationwide. Go and see it if you haven’t. Hug a filmmaker when you see one and give us money because it is not easy. So please support us and see our movies in cinemas, on YouTube, on streaming, on TV, everywhere. We are doing this for you, so enjoy it.”

Audu was referring to Just Not Married, a film she produced in 2016 with Rotimi.

Rotimi’s current film, Kilanko: The Invisible Child, premiered in Nigerian cinemas on March 6. Directed by the late Allwell Ademola, the film tells a story about family, belief, and sacrifice. Audu is also preparing to release her upcoming film, EVI, later this year.
