Actor Rotimi Salami has shared an emotional message as he marked the New Year without his close friend and colleague, Allwell Ademola.
In a post shared on Instagram on Thursday, Rotimi said celebrating the New Year felt different because Ademola was no longer with him and his family, after spending the last five years crossing over together under the same roof.
“For 5 years consecutively
We cross over to the new year under the same roof.
Pray and make wishes together with Thesalamis.
This year is different because you are not here,” he wrote.
The actor added that despite her absence, she remains in his thoughts and prayers as he begins the year.
In an earlier post, Rotimi spoke openly about the weight of his grief, asking people not to attempt to console him yet.
“Please, when you see me, don’t try to console me. Because I will break down. I still can’t say farewell, Shuga Boo. All is not well at the moment,” he said.
Allwell Ademola, an actress, producer and singer, died in December. Her death came as a shock to colleagues and fans across the industry, many of whom have continued to pay tribute to her on social media.
Rotimi and Allwell shared a long standing friendship that went beyond work. Over the years, they appeared together at events and often spoke publicly about their bond, describing each other as family.
