We are still in front, Ramsey Nouah refuses to be relegated from lover boy roles

Actor Ramsey Nouah has dismissed any suggestion that his time as Nollywood’s beloved lover boy has passed, insisting he remains a top figure in romantic storytelling.

The 54-year-old made this known during a chat with media personality Enioluwa Adeoluwa at the Radio Voice premiere on Sunday at Alliance Française in Lagos.

Enioluwa referred to Ramsey as the “OG lover boy,” saying, “We are all learning from you in this new generation,” while implying that fresh faces are now taking on such roles.

Ramsey, laughing, responded:
“That actually sounds like a relegation. How can you relegate me to the back? We are still in front, nothing for all of you. The sky is big enough for every bird to fly.”

Often regarded as one of Nollywood’s most iconic romantic leads, Ramsey has remained consistent in his delivery of love-themed roles.

In Need to Love (2023), he starred in a tense love triangle, while Secret Behind the Pain (2022) explored themes of heartbreak and betrayal.

His romantic journey continued in The Right Kind of Wrong (2022), where he played a man chasing love against all odds, followed by Broken Trust (2022), which centred on deception in relationships.

In Forgiving Love (2023), Ramsey took a more mature turn, portraying a character seeking healing and redemption in love.
