Actor and producer Uzor Arukwe’s latest film, Alive Till Dawn, has grossed N20.2 million in its opening weekend in Nigeria and Ghana.
Sharing the milestone on Instagram, Uzor wrote:

₦20.2M opening weekend, we’re beyond grateful. Thank you Nigeria and Ghana for showing up loud.🇳🇬🇬🇭
“To our incredible cast, tireless crew, partners, exhibitors, supporting brands, this win belongs to us all.
“If you haven’t seen #AliveTillDawn yet, get your geng, visit the nearest cinema and go find out why #AliveTillDawn is the highest grossing new Nollywood film of the weekend.”
Alive Till Dawn opened in cinemas nationwide on January 30. The horror film follows a group of survivors, including a police officer, former convicts and a young woman, who must work together during a sudden zombie outbreak.
The movie is directed by Sulaiman Ogegbe, written by Daisy Olowu, and produced by Leo Obienyi, with Uzor Arukwe as co‑producer. The cast features Uzor in the lead role of Badu, alongside Sunshine Rosman, Michael Dappa, Chisom Agoawuike and Sani Mu’azu.
The film has attracted attention as one of the first major Nigerian entries into the zombie genre, a shift from the supernatural horror stories common in Nollywood.
