United Nigeria Airlines has accepted the public apologies of social media personalities VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof, following a scuffle on Flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport on November 17.

The airline, in a statement signed by Public Relations Officer Chibuike Uloka, said it had taken note of their assurances to avoid any conduct capable of jeopardising aviation safety on future flights.

“United Nigeria Airlines acknowledges and accepts the public apologies issued by VeryDarkMan and Mr. Jollof following the onboard altercation that occurred during the boarding of Flight UN0523 from Asaba International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on 17 November 2025,” the statement read.

Uloka commended the airline crew and airport authorities for their “swift and professional response,” while urging passengers to cooperate with staff and security to maintain safety.

The altercation began during boarding when the two men exchanged blows in the aircraft aisle. United Nigeria confirmed that both were “deboarded immediately to ensure the safety, comfort, and security of all other passengers and crew,” before being handed over to airport security.

VeryDarkMan apologised on Instagram, saying, “What happened yesterday was not supposed to happen … I will take full responsibility for it. A lot of people on that flight had important things to do, but because of that little irresponsibility from my end, their flight was delayed … I am really, really sorry for yesterday.”

Mr. Jollof also apologised, saying, “I am very sorry if I delayed [my fellow passengers’] appointments. Pardon me. This isn’t my kind of person. It will never happen again. To my lovely wife, I know you’re proud of me. To my kids, I’m sorry, Daddy will never do this again.”

The incident has drawn regulatory attention, with the NCAA warning that unruly behaviour onboard aircraft will not be tolerated.
