Actress Uche Montana has reacted to allegations made by Senator Ned Nwoko linking her to the ongoing controversy involving his wife, Regina Daniels.
Taking to her Instagram page on Monday, Uche wrote: “I wasn’t going to say anything, but I feel it’s important to clear the air. My attention has been drawn to a circulating post that appears to link my name to certain claims. For clarity, I have no involvement or connection to the situation described. This note is simply to set the record straight and protect my peace ❤️.”
Her post comes days after Nwoko alleged that some of Regina’s siblings and friends, including Uche, sabotaged her rehabilitation process by bringing her drugs while she was under medical supervision.
In a lengthy statement shared on social media on Saturday, Nwoko accused Regina’s family and close associates of contributing to what he described as her “dependence on certain illegal substances.”
He said doctors had advised that Regina be kept away from “enablers,” but that her siblings and friends constantly defied the instruction.
“When Regina started her rehabilitation, there was a clear instruction by the doctors to strictly restrict people, especially her enablers, from having access to her,” he said.
“Unfortunately, Sammy, Destiny, some of their siblings, together with a few of their friends, notably Sonia Uche Montana among others, constantly defied those instructions.”
The senator also alleged that Regina’s erratic behaviour worsened during this period, adding that her siblings and friends were also involved in drug use.
Regina Daniels has since denied her family’s involvement, accusing Nwoko of trying to isolate her and control her life. She admitted to using drugs in the past but said the senator encouraged her habit, claiming he found her “sexier” when she was high.
