Actress Uche Jombo has finally fulfilled her long-held dream of acting alongside veteran actress Joke Silva in a mother-daughter role.
Back in December 2023, QED.ng reported that Uche had shared her desire to act as Joke’s daughter.
She made the revelation during a conversation with fellow actor Daniel Etim-Effiong in a video posted on Instagram.
Daniel had noted the physical resemblance between Uche and Joke, to which Uche agreed, adding that although she had played a younger version of the veteran in a film, she still wanted the chance to portray her daughter on screen.
“Omo you look like Aunty J,” Daniel had said in the video.
“Yes, I do, even without make-up. I’ve played like a younger her in a film. My dream role is actually a mother-daughter with her, I’ve never had that role.
“When I first started acting, they used to ask me if I was related to her before I didn’t know her, I now had to start looking for who she was,” Uche responded.
Now in an update on Tuesday, the 45-year-old shared a video on Instagram from the movie set where she and Joke Silva are finally bringing that dream to life.
She revealed that upon receiving the script, she immediately reached out to Joke to play the role of her mother and filming is nearly complete.
“In 2022 I started looking for a story for @ajokesilva and I in a Mother / Daughter role (to give the fans what they wanted and asked for).
“Fast forward to 2025 @joybewaji sent me the perfect script. You have to watch out for this one on coming to @uchejombotv_ soon! This one is special!!!!!!!” she wrote in the caption.
Uche also showed her appreciation by presenting Joke with gifts, including a body spray, wine, air freshener and earrings.
