Toyin Saraki’s father Adekunle Ojora buried in Lagos as Dangote, Otedola attended

Adekunle Ojora, father of Toyin Saraki, wife of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, has been buried in Lagos.

The burial ceremony, which was held on Thursday, was attended by business leaders, public figures and family members.

Among those present were billionaire businessmen Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and Tajudeen Dantata.

Former Akwa Ibom State governor Udom Emmanuel also attended the event.

Mr Ojora died on Tuesday at the age of 93 at his residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Born into the Ojora and Adele royal families of Lagos, he held the traditional titles of Otunba of Lagos and Lisa of Ile-Ife.

Ojora studied journalism at Regent Street Polytechnic in London and worked with the British Broadcasting Corporation, where he rose to the position of assistant editor.

He later joined the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation as a reporter and served as an information officer in Ibadan.

Ojora worked in the private sector, joining the United African Company in 1961 and becoming an executive director in 1962.

He later served as managing director of Wemabod Estates Limited and chairman of the Nigerian National Shipping Line.

Ojora had business interests in oil and gas, shipping, real estate, insurance, manufacturing, publishing, ICT and finance and served on the boards of several companies.

He received an honorary doctorate from Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio, in 1992 and was awarded the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger.

Adekunle Ojora is survived by his wife Ojuolape Ojora, his children, including Toyin Saraki, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
