Actress Toyin Abraham has announced that her new film Iyalode has grossed N231 million within 21 days of its release.

Toyin shared the news in an Instagram post on Monday, celebrating the film’s success at the Nigerian box office.

“Make way for the highest grossing film for 3 consecutive weekends👏👏
Iyalode!.. a cinematic reign like no other 💜,” she wrote.

According to data from FilmOne Entertainment, Iyalode debuted on June 6 and earned over N103 million in its opening week, outperforming international releases like Ballerina.

It maintained its number-one spot for three straight weekends, pulling in around N61 million in its second week.

The film, which is a Yoruba epic drama, follows the story of a powerful female figure navigating leadership, family and tradition. It continues Toyin’s trend of commercially successful films, following previous hits like Alakada: Bad and Boujee.

Iyalode was produced by Toyin Abraham in collaboration with FilmOne Studios and is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.

The success of the film further strengthens Toyin’s position as one of Nollywood’s top box-office stars. Her 2023 film Malaika also performed strongly at the box office.
