Actress-turned-politician Tonto Dikeh has announced that she will no longer be addressed as “King Tonto.”

In a video shared on her Instagram page on Monday, the 40-year-old said the decision was based on what she described as the leading of the Holy Spirit.

“In obedience to the Holy Spirit, I will no longer be addressed as ‘King Tonto Dikeh.’ You can call me ‘The Woman of God,’ ‘Evangelist Tonto.’ I’m going from a mess to a message,” she said.

She explained that the announcement, made on March 1, holds personal and spiritual significance.

“It just aligns with the prophecy of God upon my life, that He is marching me away from everything that is past, and marching me into the prophecies of the new morning,” she said.

Reaffirming her position, she added, “His joy, His peace and His authority keep aligning with me. As such, I will not be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh.”

Tonto adopted the title “King Tonto” several years ago as part of a personal rebranding that became widely associated with her public image and social media presence.

In recent months, she has spoken more openly about her faith and what she describes as a period of spiritual growth. Earlier this year, she celebrated graduating from a discipleship programme at Streams of Joy International, sharing photos and reflections about her journey.

Beyond her acting career, she has also been involved in politics. In 2023, she was the deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Rivers State.
